William Sr. had immigrated to Kingston in 1836 and became involved in Kingston life. A son, Donald was born to William and Susan in 1844, and died as an infant there. In 1848, John was born to this couple and about 1852, another son, William Jr. was born. Willim Sr. and Susan moved their family to Inverhuron in Bruce County where William was Reeve, and in 1861, Census Commissioner for Bruce County. William Sr. later became Clerk of Surrogate Court in Walkerton. William Jr. returned to Kingston and was living there at the time of his parents' and brother's deaths in 1890s. He is believed to have lived in Portsmouth. Looking for any information regarding the family of William Jr. Willing to share extensive family history on the Gunn families.

He is my great grandfather and I do not have too much information on him ie. where he was born , what year he was married.
All I do know is that he had three daughters one was born in 1908, one in 1912 and another in 1914. Also in 1914 his wife Nellie (VanKoughnet) Stewart died, she is
buried in Watertown, New York. If anyone has information on John Stewart I would greatly appreciate it.

Orleans, On Canada - Thursday, July 29, 1999 at 23:03:27 (EDT)I am looking for any information about my family that came from Ireland to Frontenac County from 1842 to 1856 I have found some information from 2 cencus and some burial site information...my Great great grandfather was John Bruce who had 8 children his wife died somewhere between the years 1858 and 1861 when the cencus was taken...I would love to be able to get more info on the family and relatives that may be in that area now...my great grandfather James Bruce came to Michigan in 1882 where he worked over 350 acres for two years and then bought the land where my grandfather and father were born...the land and home he built still remains in the family....below is a list of just a few of the records I would like to know about:
Marriage of James Bruce and Agnus Redmond in 1875/1876
Death of wife Mrs John Bruce who was born in Ireland..died between 1858-1861..I do not know her name
Passenger list info on immigration on Bruces around 1840 or so and lists on people immigration around 1853 to 1856 for the REDMOND family
I need to find out where they came from in Ireland...
This is a very basic start....I would also like to know how I can get information on birth certificates for my great great aunts and uncles born in Frontenac county from 1842 to 1856....for the REDMONDS and the BRUCES..THEY were living in Storrington, Pittsburg, and Kingston Ontario

Bryan Spike married Mary McGinnis in Ulster Co, New York in 1797. They moved to Fontenac County about 1810 - settling around Spike Corners, later known as Harrowsmith.
Bryan and Mary had 13 children: 13 Children: Alexander (+Margart Wright), Sarah (+Laycock), Bryan (+Lucinda Simpkins), Pamela (+Wood), James (+Catherine McGinnis), Aaron (+Eliza Goldsmith), Elizabeth (+Wood), Moses (+Maria McGinnis), Rachel (+Wood), Ann (+McGinnis) Catherine (+Scott), Mirian (+Purdy), John.
Also looking for information on the GOLDSMITH family. Eliza Goldsmith married Aaron Spike in 1844.

Her parents were John S. McLAUGHLIN and Sarah [Sarrah] BURNS [BYRNES]. Catherine's siblings included Charles McLaughlin; John McLaughlin, Jr. (m. CARRIER); James McLaughlin (m. GARDNER); Sarah McLaughlin CORBET; Elizabeth McLaughlin; Julia McLaughlin BRANN; Eliza McLaughlin POWERS; and William Henry McLaughlin (m. BYRNES). Catherine's baptism might have occurred at St. Mary's Cathedral in Kingston, and her sponsors might have been A. and Matilda MANAHAN.
Elizabeth McLaughlin married Nelson Elijah NICHOLS on October 14, 1847, in Watertown, Jefferson County, Wisconsin. Catherine and Nelson had twelve children, between 1848 and 1871. In about 1860, the family moved to Outagamie County, Wisconsin. Nelson Nichols died in 1915 in Outagamie County. Catherine McLaughlin Nichols died in 1890 in Outagamie County, Wisconsin.

He lived in Westport until age 21 when he went to Mt Morris, IL for schooling. He then married Emily KEYES and they moved back to Westport until about 1865 when they moved back to IL. I am looking for any family members. Perhaps John's parents continued to live in Westport...I cannot find their name. Can anyone help me find John L's parents? There was no birth record and in many places it says he was born in Westport, CAN. But, his obit says he was born in Morristown NY. He did live there a long time, surely there must be SOME record of him and his family.
