• Terina Orr announced on the Leeds & Grenville Query Board (14 April 1999) that she has "a copy of The History of Leeds and Grenville from 1749 to 1870" and stated that she was willing to do lookups for family members of that time in history, adding that "some of the people mentioned in the book have family tree information". • Walter Brown is a resident of Smiths Falls, has been researching his own family background from Pontiac County (Quebec, 1839) and Lanark County (Ontario, 1817) for over 40 years, and has helped several people through information he possesses. • D.R. Jackson, who is located in Ohio, posted the following message to the Eastern Ontario History, Geography and Genealogy Mailing List (EONTGEN-L) on 3 Jan 1998:
  • My ancestor Edward Jackson was born in Ireland in 1753 and came to Canada in 1776 with the British army. After the close of the war he was granted land in Augusta Twp and arrived there in 1789. I have traced this family and have been locating descendants for over 20 years and have written two books. In the meantime I have collected data on many Jackson families both related and unrelated and will correspond and share data. I will also try and and assist people wih queries in the Leeds & Grenville vicinity and elsewhere. Most of my data is pre 1871.
